Remember The Eye of Judgement, that PS3 game that used the PSEye to turn trading cards into killer monsters on your TV? You know, the one that you could buy additional cards for at your local video game store? Well, it's been three years since it was released on PS3, and now Sony has confirmed that they will pull the plug on the online services this September.

Speaking on the official EU forums, community team moderator LordRoss stated: "We at SCEE sincerely thank you for your continued support of The Eye of Judgement. The online battle service for this product will terminate on September 30th 2010.

"Offline play will remain available even after the conclusion of online service. We hope you will continue to enjoy both The Eye of Judgement., and the latest addition to the series, The Eye of Judgement: Legends, available exclusively for the PSP."

As popular as it may not have been, it's a shame that the concept hasn't been developed further to bring us more of these augmented reality titles. I guess in comparison to Wii, Move and particularly Kinect, The Eye of Judgement does seem like yesterday's news now. At least there's still the single player.
