Nintendo Officially Unveil 3DS
Big games coming

Nintendo have used the ongoing E3 convention to unleash yet another gaming beast in the 3DS. Of course, we heard about this brand new console a few months back but we now know what it'll look like and what we can expect to dazzle our palms. In keeping with the console's format, the 3DS will feature two screens, the top of which will be the 3D capable, 3.5 inch widescreen. The bottom will be a standard DS touch-screen.

What's more is that it will have four main buttons, a D-Pad and tasty little analogue stick which looks leaps apart from the original PSP's control option. President at Nintendo, Satoru Iwata showed off the new technology and said that it's power has been enhanced but did not say to what degree.

The 3D capable console packs an almighty pocket sized punch with the inclusion of a 3D camera. This will allow you to take pictures and then see them back in 3D. Awesome! It will also have a motion sensor and a gyro sensor just to squeeze as much technology into it as possible. The ability to show 3D movies will only push this little number further up the most wanted list. As reported earlier, the 3DS will be hitting shelves in October and we can't wait.

The Games

Shortly after unveiling the impressive Nintendo 3DS, the gaming innovators struck while the iron was hot by revealing some of the titles we can look forward to seeing in a 3D makeover. Earlier today we revealed that Kojima Productions had a brand new game lined up their E3 sleeves and it has transpired to be Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D. Along with this eyebrow raising announcement was a demo for all who attended E3 to sample and to say the feedback is positive would be an understatement.

Also incoming is an all new Kid Icarus adventure (remember the Medusa hunting, Greek looking chap?) and as you can see in the image below, the graphics look Wii-like or better. However with Nintendo slapping a "coming soon" release date on the title, we can safely assume that it won't be a launch game.

If both these games aren't enough to make you breath heavy with excitement than how about the prospect of a new Nintendogs game - with cats! Also en route are 3D remakes for titles in the Guitar Hero, Assassins Creed, Saints Row, Ridge Racer and Resident Evil series. The big name titles announced towards the end of Nintendo's E3 presentation included 3DS Animal Crossing and, somewhat more tantalising, 3DS Star Fox.
