Ambitious developers at Glu are to release a title that requires you to locate items using the real world around you. 1000 invites you into an environment where you can explore and discover 1,000 items hidden in the real time surroundings you find yourself in. Visiting a separate screen, you can use you iPhone or iPod Touch's GPS functionality to locate spot the items scattered around your current location. The idea is to literally walk around and pick up the items that can then be transferred into your game.

If you own an older device that doesn't support GPS, you can use WiFi connectivity to locate hotspots and then make use of Gifters in the gameworld who will offer you gifts accordingly. Very little other information exists about the game, aside from that it looks very similar to Animal Crossing. Wow, a GPS based Animal Crossing. Who would have thought it? If people didn't agree that the fact that the App Store is revolutionising the gaming industry, it seems no further proof is needed.
