With a host of augmented reality iPhone games and the upcoming System Flaw, a new augmented reality game on the Dsi, it seems it's now the PSP's turn to bring some AR gaming to our hand-held craving trigger happy thumbs, with new release Invizimals.
Invizimals has been described as the AR version of Pokemon. Using the PSP's camera and a special "trap" mat device, the game incorporates monster battles in the reality of the living room floor. There are plenty of different monsters available, each one can vary depending on the time of the day or the surfaces you are using.
Using the trap the player can then capture these virtual beasts and make them their own. The idea is to raise and train these virtual monsters and unleash them against other people's monsters via wireless or against AI beasts. Sounds like Pokemon, but awesome. I can't wait to get my hands on this.
Invizimals is available both with and without the PSP Go Camera now, and will also be available in a bundle with the PSP-3000 model console from next week.
