Here at Virtual Generation we strongly believe Augmented Reality is destined to play a big role in our future. For those who don't know, Layar is a handy Augmented Reality browser for mobile phones, displaying real time digital information on top of reality through the camera. This brilliant tool can be used to locate cash machines, bars, hotels, amongst others, by simply accessing the app and pointing the phone's camera down the street.

So what is next for Layar? That's the question they will be answering at their upcoming NEXT Event. The two day event is taking place in Amsterdam on August 17th and 18th and features workshops and discussions, as well as an appearance from author Bruce Sterling (yes, the Bruce Sterling).

The event is aimed at people who believe that AR is the future (like us!) and those who are interested in working with the technology. It's also a chance to connect with developers, brands, agencies, consultants and press from all over the world.
