It's been reported that, thanks to an injection of funding, the company Light Blue Optics will be able to proceed with its development of holographic laser projection technology. Using this, LBO will apparently be able to turn any flat surface into a touch-sensitive display.
Therefore, using holographic projection (not actual holograms), your dinner table, floor or even wall could become a touch-screen - removing the need for monitors or specific devices!
According to LBO, their technology will deliver "vibrant colours and focus-free operation". It's also completely in keeping with safety standards too, which clearly must have helped them secure around 15 million US dollars. Reports say that this money will help them speed up development, and allow them to target automatic, industrial and consumer electronics.
