Bluebrain's 'Central Park' App
A new way of listening to music
20-01-12: Bluebrain are a Washington DC-based band, who have created a new location-based app.
Using augmented reality, users who have downloaded the app on their iPhone, can listen to the bands album whilst walking around Central Park in New York. The app tracks the users location via GPS and this location determines the rhythm and melody of the music.
Therefore, the user is creating their own soundtrack. The music is tied to the location, but depending on the route taken, depends on how the music will sound. The app as a whole creates a unique and compelling experience.
