03-01-12: A mobile enthusiast, Brian August, has developed an app in which people can use their Smartphone's camera and point it at the New York skyline and see a silhouette of the Twin Towers where they once stood.
The app, named 110 Stories, uses augmented reality to superimpose an image of the World Trade Centre in the exact place it should be. Users can then take photos of the skyline using the app and upload them to the projects website, adding a story as to why they took the photo.
"...I realised this was something that will enable people who were not here on 9/11 or who were never here to actually get some real sense of how big the buildings were and how the fit in to the skyline," said Brian August, speaking to the BBC.
