21-12-11: A new augmented reality based app allows users to gain a unique look on Stonehenge.
Named the Stonehenge Experience, the app is available for iPhone and allows users to explore a virtual Stonehenge.
Anyone using the app can perform different finger swipes on their touchscreen to view different angles of the monument. The app aims to make people feel almost physically there, moving around the stones. There are also many other features, including one in which you can 'excavate' the remains of a buried body. You can also hear a voiceover, explaining different theories and research.
"When put together with the Ribui app it makes for an absorbing immersive experience and allows people to see and hear Stonehenge as it was 5000 years ago," said a spokesperson.
It is available in the App Store for £1.99.
