04-01-12: LG are to launch a massive 84 inch Ultra Definition 3DTV in 2012. The TV will offer a huge 3840x2160 resolution, four times the size of current HD panels.
Users will be able to control the 3D effect as well as experiencing 3D sound.
The TV will also integrate the Smart TV ecosystem, giving users access to 1,200 apps and premium content.
"LG is pushing the limits of home entertainment innovation with this 3D UD TV," said the President and CEO of LG, Havis Kwon. "We are bringing together all our Smart TV and 3D knowledge in the 3D UD TV in order to demonstrate to the CES audience that LG is committed to being the world's leading brand for immersive home entertainment in 2012 and beyond."
For now, there is no consumer content available to work well with such amazing resolutions, but it may come in the future! The TV will probably appeal to those with a home theatre and corporate users.
